(17) Classic German Automotive Pr0ns -- Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR

Image
The Mercedes-Benz 300SLR was a car designed and built for racing, not related to the classically popular and similarly named gullwinged 300SL, only coincidence that it was actually based upon the 1954-55 Formula 1 offering, which happened to have a fucking boring name. Technological advances that are in use even to this day, 56 years later are employed - super lightweight materials, front-midship (square with or behind front axles), independent rear suspension and plenty more. Championed by the legendary Stirling Moss, his #722 is THE one(s) most easily associated with this car, and I am sure that every one ever made was painted silver, lol. Racing history was marred by a few crashes of them at the hands of other drivers due to poor brake design. One killed a driver and several spectators when the drum brakes were inefficient and a fire ensued. Noteworthy is that the lightweight metal of choice was magnesium. One "fun" burn characteristic of a magnesium is that when you have

(9) Danish(?!!?) Automotive Prons -- Zenovo ST1

Image
What I do know is that Zenovo is a Danish automaker, specializing in supercars... What I do know is that at some point, likely while I was drunk, I saw the car you will be seeing today and typed it's name in a blog draft to come back to when sober... What I do know is that this car sports a 7.0 liter V8 engine with a supercharger AND a turbocharger and makes 1100 horses as a result. Overkill much? Not when they only made like 15 of them and sold them for some still undisclosed, but wholly ridiculous amount of money. The secrecy under which this car comes is the catalyst for intrigue, and lord knows I am feeling it. Because of the exclusivity, not as many pictures as you're accustomed to in these blogs exists, but I am presenting what I have, and trust that all known and pertinent information is as presented above. Picture time, and I apologize for any duplicates, I am feeling lazy today...

Italian Automotive Pr0ns -- De Tomaso Pantera

Here is something that none of you know about me... When I was younger, I thought I could draw. My images drawn almost always involved basketball and cars (any surprises there?) , maybe shoes here and there. I guess no one ever actually changes, as much as simply becoming more of what they already were. Fact of the matter, though is that I sucked as an artist, so at some point around high school I discovered titties and fell the rest of the way in love with Hip Hop, then destroyed all evidence of the "drawing" phase in my life. Fire lends a certain and very necessary finality to these things, no embarrassing things to pop up 15-20 years later and make me have to kill someone, then stash them in my granny's deep freezer for 3 days, then put them through a wood chipper and use them as fertilizer in my yard... Oh shit, un-read that last couple of sentences, please. Anyoldserialmurderist ways, as these things go, the cars were usually very swoopy and angular, as to suggest th
