8:03am - Wake up and report to the living room. 8:05am - Remote in hand, spinning channels... The only thing on is what appears to be Curious George on UNCTV (PBS to the rest of you) 8:07am - I renege on the 'no computer' thing, sitting down to move files from the old computer to the new one, while I turn to the TV Guide Channel to see what time some real cartoons come on. 8:14am - The only channels showing ANYTHING other than the above mentioned Curious George -- if not news or paid programming -- are Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and the cartoon network... I do not see myself watching Fairly OddParents, Max & Ruby, or Ben 10 Alien Force, so this experiment is drawn to a close quickly. 8:20am - I turn to SportsCenter... I decided that tomorrow morning, I will get my black ass out the bed, forgo the computer and cooked breakfast for a change, instead opting for a bowl of chocolate Cheerios (try these motherfuckers, for real!) and report on my findings. Yes, I have been to the movies more in the 15+ months I have been with The Katie than I did in all of the 5 years prior. That being said, my mind was made when we went to see Sherlock Holmes a couple weeks ago that the next movie we would see would be The Book of Eli . Those that know me know that I am a homer for Denzel Washington and Samuel L Jackson movies. This movie stars Denzel in a role that is absou-fucking-lutely DYNAMIC. I mean that in that the idea of what it is he is in this movie changes with the goings on in the movie. The movie starts in what appears to be a post-apocalyptic United States with some ass-kicking and killage, so I was all for this one. Sure, there was some gore and I am more than sure that the hair up PETA's ass will be inflamed and will become a boil for what happened here. Ooh look, I am about to piss some people off, ain't I? Well stick with me, here... See, in the special Olympics I am to understand that there are no 'losers' and that everyone gets a medal. In today's hip hop climate, there are no losers, per se, in that no one is actually 'winning' in the same manner that they might have just 5 short(ish) years ago... Look, I know this shit happened on New Year's Day, but I was alternating hungover, shopping in Charlotte and then drunk all over again that day, so I did not get to it until like Monday, I think... You know what? 2009 has been an all around not-so-great year, but I am thankful to have made it to the other side in a better position to take on the next than that which I entered this one in. Okay, following the advice of a few of my readers and my own idea presented for solicitation of such advice, I waited until year's end (or until the last Tuesday of the month year, so no more music is releasing) and I will NOW make my 2009 post for the time capsule that is the internets... Let us understand that by the time you read this, 10 of the 12 months' releases will have been filled in, but as I TYPE this, I am expecting the ugliest of clusterfucks. I base this SOLELY on what I recall having been released to this point in the year (10/26/2009, 8:42am EST).
