  Valentine's Day is this weekend, y'all...      While in general, I don't really much care for or about the day, there are little things in sometimes notice as I travel about my plans from week to week. I made a trip through Walmart and one to Walgreens for general merchandise and to refill a prescription, respectively, within the last few weeks. While I was in Walgreens in particular -- mainly because they're all the size of my kitchen now -- I noticed that the whole Plan B display was completely empty. The comedian in me saw how that could be a trip, what with St Valentine's Day approaching, but thought nothing of it.      When I went to Walmart, I had to go to the health and beauty section for body wash and such items. Ghetto-ass names; they're my birth control

I work in a place where I have to actually talk to people from doctors' offices. Often times, I see or hear people with names that cause me to HONESTLY question: what the fuck their parents were thinking when they saddled them with it? if said parents were even a MOMENT over the age of 16 when they named them? are fathers REALLY so pretentious as to need to name their DAUGHTERS after themselves? Enlisting the assistance of The Katie in the name of collection of the names as presented, as well as offering up a few of her own, I have compiled here a list of some of the most egregious of the names I have since come across... If you happen upon this list and find your name, don't take it personally... Who is to discredit someone as being "not hip hop," simply because they don't like them? Invariably, you can find someone on the internet professing to their fanship of some obscure, undiscovered (or just-discovered) artist to latch onto, then talk about them as if they're the best thing ever invented, if only because they have heard of them and you have not... They will prattle on about how "fake" and "watered down" that "commercialized" music has become. Bonus points scored if you can get them to cop to once liking a current (or recently previously popular) artist, but it always comes with the qualifier "I liked him better when he was still underground," even if that artist never even pretended to be "underground," whatever that may mean in the grand scheme of things.
