2009 in hip hop review.

Okay, following the advice of a few of my readers and my own idea presented for solicitation of such advice, I waited until year's end (or until the last Tuesday of the month year, so no more music is releasing) and I will NOW make my 2009 post for the time capsule that is the internets... Let us understand that by the time you read this, 10 of the 12 months' releases will have been filled in, but as I TYPE this, I am expecting the ugliest of clusterfucks. I base this SOLELY on what I recall having been released to this point in the year (10/26/2009, 8:42am EST). To be totally honest, I am describable as angered right now just thinking about it, but I will let it ride. I committed to the project, so I will do it to completion. January We get the not-so-good-soundtrack to a not-so-good movie, Notorious . I won't even get into why I didn't see the movie, but know that it has a lot to do with the fact that it featured people portraying people who were NOT dead in the movie...

       I am an awful liar… I don't mean that as in "I'm awful because I lie a lot," I mean it as in "I am awful at lying" .  Yes, there is absolutely a difference      I tell the band kids all the time to just be straight up with shit, because maintaining a lie is not e'em worth it in the grandest scheme of things.  Something I learned when I was drinking is -- outside of WILDLY entertaining stories -- how hard it is to remember all of the elements of a non-truth when the truth is what actually happened.  You ain't gotta work to remember shit if you stick to what actually happened in the first place. … unless, of course, you can convince yourself that the lie you're telling is the actual truth, in which case congratulations you're a fucking sociopath and master manipulator.      Anyway… I'm just getting off work a couple weeks ago and had to go scout a couple of lawns I cut, plus run quotes on two new ones.  I'm not ...

Easily entertained

Ever heard of The Cardiff Giant ? Some asshole in the 1800's argued with some Jesusy people about a passage in Genesis 6:4 about giants who once walked the Earth. [ Phlip note - and y'all thought atheists in 2009 were dickheads?] He had a large slab of gypsum pulled and shipped it to someone who carved it into a human-shape and doctor it up to appear as if it was the body of a petrified human. The going belief is that he had spent $2600 to this point in the ruse. [ Phlip note - SHEEEEEED, in 1869 money? I don't have 2600 RIGHT NOW!] He then had it sent to his cousin's farm, who buried it, then had some people "dig a well," and of course they found it and announced to all that would listen that there had been some old Indian Native American buried there. He (the cousin, not the original asshole) then charged people a quarter each to view the giant, jacking the price up to Fiddy Cent [no Pimpin' Curly] 2 days later.
